On 5th December 2015 and for the following five nights, the picturesque alpine style landscapes of the Swiss Garden will be beautifully illuminated for all to see.

The Regency Swiss Garden in Old Warden, near Biggleswade, has a long history of illumination by its creator Lord Ongley, from as early as the late 1820s. Now, with a contemporary twist on his work, this week long installation by e-Luminate Studio, will include a route of key garden features highlighted and enhanced by creative, intriguing lighting and a recreation of an aviary that is believed to have existed as a feature within the garden.

The Swiss Garden in Lights event will use the same creative skills of the e-Luminate Studio team that lightens Cambridge’s iconic buildings and public spaces during its annual light festival. They will use their skilful use of light and sound to bring together the historical and modern to the beautiful setting of the garden. Alessandra Caggiano at e-Luminate Studio says: “We are thrilled to announce the launch of a brand new six-night event in the stunning Swiss Garden and enhance the offer of this heritage site at an otherwise quiet time of the year.”
